Legal Assistant
Duties: Under the supervision of the Manager of Litigation Legal Assistants / Specialists and attorneys, will work closely with the Litigation and International Arbitration Practice Groups to provide support to lawyers during the entire litigation and arbitration process. This includes the initial information gathering stage, discovery, briefing, trial, hearing, as well as careful archival of case material. May assist in such as correspondence and discovery, hearing and trials, administrative proceedings, briefs and settlements. Plays a significant role in the retrieval, review and production of documents. Assist with document retrieval, review, organization, and production. Maintain case pleadings, correspondence, discovery and research. Assist with document reviews, prepare productions to other parties, compile document collection logs, production logs and privilege logs, create witness kits. Conduct legal research using Bloomberg, Lexis, Westlaw Next, Pacer, etc. Organize and prepare exhibit lists and/or privilege logs. Coordinate work with outside document and litigation vendors, including adherence to strict deadlines. Oversee and mentor junior legal assistants on projects relating to cite-checking, document reviews, document production, etc. Prepare and release diaries; complete and submit weekly overtime vouchers.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: BS/BA degree. 3+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or equivalent desirable. Experienced in filing significant briefs in federal and state courts. Superior written and verbal communication skills. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to produce high-quality work product under pressure and tight deadlines. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to carefully and accurately follow instructions and prioritize. Ability to take ownership of tasks and think creatively. Strong ability to work independently and as a team player. Ability to analyze and solve problems.
