Privacy Project Specialist
The candidate will work closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Security, and internal counsel to research, develop, and refine data protection and acceptable use policies and controls. Will assist with internal due diligence for purchases and partnerships in marketing, e-commerce, software, and web service providers, and assist with implementation guidance. Support development of documentation and training materials for compliance with data management and privacy. Respond to policy inquiries and escalations from internal teams, documenting guidance and communicating current policies in a clear and objective way. Assist in monitoring key legislative and industry trends, and surface those trends to drive process, policy, or infrastructure changes. Manage complicated cross-functional projects related to compliance with privacy and data protection laws, and related requirements. Help build and evolve Firm’s global Privacy Program and support positive relationships with internal teams.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should preferably have JD or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved institution. Privacy or Security certification (e.g. CIPP, CISSP, or similar) is plus. Must have A. or B.S. degree or equivalent project or program management experience. Must have 3+ years of experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, incident or security response coordination with a legal or security team in a multi-national corporation. Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, and negotiation skills needed. Should have experience supporting, implementing and enforcing privacy and data protection policies and controls within a global privacy program. Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects with varying deadlines is required. Knowledge of legal, information security and privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, ISO 27000) is needed. Solid knowledge of digital technologies (e.g., social media, digital advertising, mobile apps, mobile payments), and familiarity with associated privacy and data security requirements is required. Familiarity with Firm’s products and services is desired.
