Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using resources like Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw to support litigation cases.
- Draft and review legal documents and pleadings, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including mandatory settlement conferences, motions, status hearings, and other litigation matters.
- Collaborate with legal staff and manage case files, ensuring proper organization and documentation.
- Stay current with legal developments and changes that may affect litigation strategies.
- Engage in client negotiations and mediation related to litigation and bankruptcy issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2+ years of litigation experience, with a focus on foreclosure and bankruptcy.
- Prior experience with Black Knight (LPS) and Tempo is highly beneficial.
- Strong ability to conduct legal research and draft legal documents.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to represent clients effectively in court and during negotiations.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Licensed to practice law in New York.
Skills:
- Strong legal research skills (Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw).
- Proficient in drafting legal documents and pleadings.
- Expertise in litigation procedures and courtroom representation.
