Law Department Consulting, Director - (18000042) The candidate will manage client engagements and relationships as a leader in the Law Department Consulting team. Provide business consulting, process improvement analysis and technology utilization services. Will provide leadership and strategic direction on client accounts. Direct and oversee the preparation of high quality client deliverables. Ensure client projects are delivered on time and on budget. Drive development of new business and the expansion of existing client accounts through delivery of impactful solutions and strategic leadership. Leverage firm resources to generate opportunities. Create and drive opportunities for relationship expansion into other firm service offerings. Enhance firm brand recognition and reputation via market-facing activities, including speaking engagement opportunities, white papers and articles. Develop new approaches for effective delivery of consulting services for entire firm service offerings. Direct and oversee significant projects and provide guidance and direction to team members managing small, and mid-sized projects. Direct project schedules including management of team member workload and schedules. Manage and set timeline expectations for internal team. Drive opportunities to integrate and leverage breadth of firm services into delivery of law department consulting. Set strategy for business model for law department consulting practice and provide direction to projects and initiatives in alignment with strategy. Demonstrate expertise in software implementations, process analytics/design, financial management and/or outside counsel management. Manage the deployment of new technology and process within client organizations. Establish expectations for professional development. Develop learning opportunities for team members. Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have BA/BS in Finance, Business Analytics, MIS or a related field. MBA, JD or other relevant advanced degree is preferred. Must have 8+ years’ experience, including 2+ years’ experience managing engagements for a leading consulting firm in the area of law department operations. Should have strong mastery of process analytics and design, with related operational experience. Knowledge of law department management best practices and industry trends is essential. Experience independently managing law department projects from initial scoping through execution is essential. Should be Tech savvy, with strong knowledge of relevant industry platforms and tools. Experience managing and mentoring junior team members is essential.
