Term Law Clerk The Honorable Judge Diane Finkle The law clerk provides legal support to the judge by conducting legal research and preparing legal documents, such as orders, memoranda, and draft opinions. Reviews legal submissions, performs legal analysis and research, and drafts legal documents addressing a wide assortment of issues arising in bankruptcy proceedings. Performs case management through the Case Management/Electronic Case Filing (CM/ECF) system. Performs administrative office functions such as editing, proofreading, telephone communications, written correspondence, and scheduling. Must be a law school graduate (or be certified as having completed all law school studies and requirements and merely awaiting conferment of degree) from a law school of recognized standing and have one or more of the following attributes: standing within the upper third of the law school class from a law school on the approved list of either the ABA or the Association of American Law Schools; experience on the editorial board of a law review of such a school; or demonstrated proficiency in legal studies which, in the opinion of the judge, is the equivalent of one of the above. Should be a member in good standing of the bar of a state, territory or federal court of general jurisdiction. Prior judicial clerkship or chambers internship is preferred. Familiarity with CM/ECF is desired. Prior experience in a legal office or courthouse environment is an asset. Law Review/Journal experience is preferred. Moot Court participation is desired. Clerkship Term: August 26, 2019 to August 25, 2020. Application Deadline: September 14, 2018.
