ProfileAttorney The candidate will report directly to an Assistant Chief Counsel and will work on natural resources and regulatory issues. The duties of this position include: conducting research, preparing legal opinions, memoranda, and correspondence related to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), the California Endangered Species Act (CESA), Section 1600 et seq. of the Fish and Game Code, the Natural Community Conservation Planning Act (NCCPA), and the Regional Conservation Investment Strategy (RCIS) program; negotiating, drafting, and reviewing permits, agreements, and transactional documents; advising CDFW staff on all legal issues related to CEQA, CESA, Section 1600, NCCPA, and the RCIS program; representing CDFW in public and inter-agency meetings; and overseeing litigation related to these regulatory programs handled by the Office of the Attorney General (OAG).
