Profile

Supply Management Specialist Duties: The candidate will initiate, develop, install, or administer a supply program. Will develop and issue supply handbooks and other publications for agency and/or industry use. Conduct surveys and studies of supply operations to determine proper application of improved supply methods or approved industry techniques. Provide technical advice, guidance, and assistance on supply operations to agency personnel. Evaluate storage and distribution systems for potential introduction of automated controls and systems of data flow and reports. Position may be subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications:
For GS-05: The candidate should have completed a four-year course of study leading to a Bachelor's degree OR have 3+ years of general experience that includes 1 year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-04) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical advice, guidance, and assistance on supply operations to agency personnel OR have a combination of education and experience that equates to 1 year of experience.

For GS-07: The candidate should have completed one full year of graduate level education OR have have completed a Bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement OR have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector initiating, developing, installing, or administering a supply program OR have a combination of education and experience that equates to 1 year of experience.

For GS-09: The candidate should have completed a Master's or equivalent graduate degree OR have completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a Master's degree OR have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled OR have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector developing design specifications, reviewing data processing systems that support supply programs, and documenting additions, changes, or deletions OR have a combination of education and experience that equates to 1 year of experience.

For GS-11: The candidate should have completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR have completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree OR have completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled OR have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector conducting surveys and studies of supply operations to determine proper application of improved supply methods or approved industry techniques OR have a combination of education and experience that equates to 1 year of experience.

For GS-12: The candidate must have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector monitoring and making recommendations to modify inventory control systems for subordinate and regional level programs.

For GS-13: The candidate must have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector coordinating with customers and overseeing the implementation of actions involving requirements determination, acquisition of supplies and materials, managing property accountability systems, and assuring that property is in place where and when needed.

For GS-14: The candidate must have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector developing, installing, or advising on financial or other management control programs for supply operations for such purposes as controlling operations, determining supply costs, planning and budgeting, and evaluating supply management performance.

For GS-15: The candidate must have 1+ year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-14 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector for evaluating storage and distribution systems for potential introduction of automated controls and systems of data flow and reports.
