Job Overview: A law firm seeks a mid-level nonprofit and Association Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience, preferably representing tax-exempt organizations. Admission to the New York Bar is required.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel to nonprofit organizations and associations.
• Draft and review contracts, bylaws, and governance documents.
• Advise on corporate structures and component/affiliate relations.
• Assist with licensing and membership program matters.
• Handle lobbying activities and compliance issues.
• Conduct legal research and analysis.
• Represent clients in negotiations, meetings, and legal proceedings.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex matters.

Requirements:

• 4+ years of legal experience in a law firm environment.
• Strong background in nonprofit law and tax-exempt organizations.
• Admission to the New York Bar.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

• Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
• Knowledge of nonprofit and tax-exempt organization laws.
• Familiarity with contract drafting and negotiation.
