Government Affairs Counsel The candidate will be responsible for analyzing proposed statewide legislation and regulations as well as local government measures affecting company; working with applicable business units(including product, operations, and sales) to assess business impact of proposals and analyze and develop potential alternatives; drafting language for potential modifications to existing statutes, regulations and ordinances; drafting reports, memoranda and correspondence supporting the companyâ€™s positions with respect to existing or potential legislation, regulations and ordinances; and meeting with legislators, regulators and other government officials and industry participants to advocate for those positions. Reports to General Counsel in Oakland, California headquarters. Should have JD degree from top law school and a state bar member in good standing (California preferred). Must have 6-10 years of experience with 4+ years experience as an associate, of counsel or partner at a top-tier law firm.
