Corporate Paralegal I, II / Senior The candidate will assist Company attorneys in all stages of litigation, corporate transactions, and with the preparation of documents necessary to comply with federal, state, and local regulations in the conduct of business activities. Duties may relate to Tucson Electric Power Company, UNS Energy Corporation, or any of their subsidiary or affiliated companies. Assist Company attorneys with all aspects of corporate transactions, with litigation and regulatory proceedings, and with the preparation of documents necessary to comply with federal, state, and local regulations in the conduct of business activities. Assist the Company with a wide range of complex and highly confidential special projects including corporate commercial transactions and investigations; case management of complex and routine litigation matters; coordination with Company business areas in gathering facts and records related to litigation and regulatory proceedings; assisting Company attorneys in proceedings pending before the Arizona Corporation Commission; responding to subpoenas and document requests; drafting, reviewing and filing a variety of legal documents, including corporate filings, UCC filings, federal trademarks and copyrights, SEC filings, and court filings; due diligence in connection with commercial transactions and related contract-specific projects; corporate governance matters; conducting moderately complex factual and legal research; and management of departmental records retention. Should have 3+ years of significant experience actively and consistently working as a paralegal, including substantial experience with voluminous document management and production (such as in large due diligence or litigation matters); have a relevant bachelorâ€™s degree, paralegal certificate or equivalent knowledge earned through experience; be familiar with and demonstrate knowledge of a variety of legal concepts, practices, and procedures; rely on experience and judgment to plan and timely accomplish goals; be able to lead and direct the work of others; and exercise and demonstrate the ability to think independently and critically, suggest solutions, and propose innovative approaches and increased efficiencies to problems or responsibilities. Experience in civil litigation preferred. Excellent legal research skills and proficiency with MS Office and Westlaw is required.
