ProfileContract & Scheduling Paralegal Duties: Works closely with MEC officers, representatives, and committee volunteers to assist in gathering information and evidence to review and analyze with respect to potential contract issues and support. Provides primary administrative support for the Contract Clarification Team (CCT) and pilots regarding crew scheduling as well as handling calls and supporting contract enforcement. Individual responsibility and administrative ability are both required to ensure that tasks are carried out as assigned and important deadlines are met.
Qualification and Experience
Requirements: High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in relevant area, e.g., English, Paralegal Studies, Political Science, Pre-Law, or related field, from an accredited college or university preferred; or, the equivalent combination of education and practical experience. Paralegal Certificate or 5 years of equivalent airline experience required. 2 years of paralegal experience strongly preferred, 5+ years preferred. Labor law experience strongly preferred. Working knowledge of ALPA System Board, Federal Flight Time/Duty Times, and other Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) preferred. Knowledge of pilot scheduling and work rules preferred. Understanding of current Hawaiian Airlines Pilots Agreement and corporate practices preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, for effective interaction with internal staff, external contacts, and pilots. Excellent organizational skills. Able to work independently and to be proactive in identifying and responding to issues and problems. Able to work flexible schedule on short-notice as needed. Accurate word processing speed of 60+ wpm strongly preferred. Software: Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
