Trust and Estate Administration Specialist The candidate will handle day to day administration of contested and uncontested trusts and estates stemming from the death of grantors and testators. Will serve as the primary contact for trust and estate administration accounts. Review, interpret and analyze statutes and legal documents including wills, trusts, insurance policies, contracts, and court orders to ensure compliance with instructions and provisions of such legal documents. Identify, accumulate, and preserve estate assets when applicable. Preparation of account inventories and accountings. Work with real estate experts as necessary to handle rental and/or sale of the property. Process transactions and arrange for payment of debts and legal obligations. Work with attorneys as necessary to handle probate or conservatorship proceedings. Work with accountants as necessary to ensure proper and timely tax filings associated with administration of trusts and probate estates. Ensure proactive and timely written and oral communication with estate beneficiaries, as well as respond to the questions, concerns, and requests of such beneficiaries. Written and oral communication with internal and external professionals including attorneys, accountants, court personnel, appraisers, bankers, real estate agents, insurance agents, auctioneers, and other various individuals involved with administering an estate. Evaluate new estate administration account opportunities and work with others to open and close accounts. Handle distributions to beneficiaries. Develop an understanding of the laws associated with probate, trust administration, and conservatorships.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelor’s degree or higher. Must have 3+ years of experience as part of a law firm, trust department, or similar employer. Working knowledge of probate process, conservatorships, and trust and estate administration, or an ability to gain such working knowledge needed. Paralegal, CTFA, or law degree preferred.
