Internship The intern will gain first-hand experience in the daily functions of the office, participating in general office support and interacting with all members of the staff. Responsibilities range from sorting mail and answering phones to attending staff briefings, performing legislative research, assisting constituents and giving US Capitol tours. A Congressional internship is a unique way to gain insight into federal policy while serving the community. Participants in the internship program must be available to work at least 10 hours per week.
