The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded team player with a strong work ethic. The IP Paralegal is a patent and trademark specialist who works with the IP attorneys to establish and execute IP processes for the filing, prosecution, maintenance, clearance, enforcement, and defense of company’s IP rights worldwide. Review communications from domestic and foreign counsel, update docket accordingly, and record relevant documents. Help to monitor IP spend; track and report on IP activity and related IP performance metrics; and assist in developing IP reports and presentations. Assist with training company employees on IP processes and best practices. Correspond with outside counsel with regard to completion of some of the above tasks. Process IP invoices and outside counsel’s compliance with company practice and billing guidelines. Harvest invention disclosure forms and ensure completeness of information; obtain signatures on assignments, declarations, and other documents; and compile evidence needed to support patent and trademark applications and renewals. Manage the patent annuity payment system and the external idea submission system.
