ProfileAssistant General Counsel - Intellectual Property - Vice President The candidate will support the Intellectual Property team, including trademark enforcement, brand protection, performing research on various intellectual property related issues, and creating and maintaining policies and procedures. Will support all lines of business and corporate staff areas. Handle trademark enforcement matters, including opposition and cancellation proceedings, demand letters, UDRP proceedings, and online take-downs. Assist with trademark clearance, registration, and prosecution. Assist with clearance of third-party intellectual property and copyright matters. Perform legal research and prepare legal guidance documents. Review, interpret, and analyze agreements, advising clients and partners on rights and responsibilities related to those agreements, including in light of company policies and regulatory guidance. Provide intellectual property legal advice and counsel to internal clients and partners.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate must have 7-10 years of relevant intellectual property practicing experience in a law firm or corporate law department. Experience handling global intellectual property issues is preferred. In-house experience in the financial services industry desirable. Familiarity with privacy, cybersecurity, contracting, and related regulatory and risk environments desirable. Must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in NY or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction.
