ProfileSenior Attorney - Real Estate The candidate will report to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel. Will provide legal guidance and recommendations on legal strategies, problems and issues facing the various divisions of the Authority. Negotiate lease terms and conditions; draft leases and assignments of leases; negotiate SNDAs; and coordinate with Real Estate Services staff, the Legal Department, Construction Management staff, and Architecture and Engineering teams with respect to matters relating to the design and construction of lease build-outs. Provide legal advice to Real Estate Services staff, Landlord-Tenant Relations staff, the New York City Department of Education; and senior management regarding leasing matters. Negotiate and draft license agreements, letters of intent, memoranda of understanding, and other real estate related documents. Conduct legal research with respect to legal issues and other matters pertinent to the real estate and leasing program, business operations, and construction program. Must have a J.D. degree from an accredited law school; a license to practice law in New York State; and 4+ years of full-time, post-Bar admission, diverse legal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, and/or government agency handling real estate matters; and other contractual issues; and general business matters. Should have real estate experience.
