Closing Specialist Team Lead - The candidate is responsible for the direct management and oversight of teammates in the Closing Function for assigned geography or centralized environment. Mentors entry level teammates, as well as, coaching highly experienced teammates with extensive closing expertise and provides guidance, direction and development for teammates. Enforces controls in the closing process â€“ has the authority to stop a closing if all conditions are not met. Acts as a peer to sales Team Leads and Portfolio Management team leads in the delivery of the credit product Monitors teamâ€™s performance to continually improve efficiency, consistency, timeliness, and quality. Ensures all information is complete and accurate, all standards, guidelines, policies and procedures and regulations are followed, and SLAs are achieved. Responsible for managing all activities of Closers in an assigned geography, including assuring timely and efficient processes and quality control. Manage, coach and develop Closers to ensure teammates are delivering a positive client experience while maintaining required controls. Works with Closers to effectively communicate closing conditions to RMs/Clients. Interact closely with Underwriting Team Lead, Loan Servicing Team Lead and Portfolio Admin Team Lead to ensure smooth hand-offs between and Underwriting, Loan Servicing and Portfolio Administration and resolve any issues or challenges. Leadership includes mentoring entry level teammates, as well as, coaching highly experienced teammates with extensive closing expertise. Acts as a peer to sales Team Leads and Portfolio Management team leads in the delivery of the credit product.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have Bachelors Degree in finance or accounting. Associates degree or certificate in paralegal or related field is preferred. Professional license/specialized training in escrow, title, real estate, government programs (SBA and EXIM), and specialized lending programs is essential. Prior paralegal experience and paralegal team management is essential. Prior title company management experience and experience in commercial loan operations is essential. Must be proficient in reviewing title work, surveys, collateral, lien filings and environmental reports. Knowledge of ACAPS and CLO is essential. Should have Bachelors Degree, or equivalent work experience. Should have 10+ years of experience in credit loan consultation and/or administration. Should have 5+ years managing legal and/or commercial closing teams. Prior experience in financial services is essential. Prior experience managing and leading team is essential. Prior experience managing a production environment is essential. Knowledge of loan closing, document preparation and servicing functions is essential. Knowledge of loan and retail system is essential. Knowledge of legal documentation requirement is essential. Must have strong organizational skills, interpersonal and people development skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight time constraints. Must have advanced commercial credit knowledge loan closings, legal documentation and exceptions. Must have effective verbal and written communication skills for the purpose of negotiating and explaining the loan closing process, exceptions and associated legal documentation to internal, external clients and appropriate counsel. Technical skills and proficiency with commercial or retail loan systems and imaging systems is essential.
