Legal Assistant Duties: The candidate will act as administrative support for the Director of Legal and Corporate Counsel. Manage and respond to incoming legal requests; assign tasks, monitor deadlines, and update changes in status. Review, proofread and edit various legal agreements and correspondence. Assist project teams in preparation for pre-job start kick-offs by preparing contract term sheets. Review various legal documents and processes for execution by the company’s authority matrix. Draft and assist in the preparation of correspondence, including letters, notices, and emails. Perform document control functions such as management of the legal Share Point repository. Conduct research on legal/contractual matters as assigned. Provide daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually reporting as required by the supervisor. Perform other items as assigned.
Qualification and ExperienceQualifications: The candidate should have a Paralegal certificate or Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in a business-related field. Should have 3+ years experience as a paralegal within a law firm’s corporate/business/construction practice group or legal assistant for an in-house legal department within the construction industry. Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward the firm’s Zero Injury principles. Significant experience working with corporate insurance policies. Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel). Familiarity working within Share Point. Strong organizational skills, initiative, and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information and communications securely and professionally. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work well within a team. Ability to deal with multiple assignments, prioritize, and gress assignments without constant oversight.
