Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Should have CPA certification if qualified to sit for the CPA; if not qualified, licensed attorney, Enrolled Agent, or other appropriate certification (or in the process of obtaining). Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax or J.D. and/or LL.M. is preferred. Must have 3-5 years of experience in state income and franchise tax. Preparation and review experience of state income and franchise tax returns required. Experience with state tax planning, tax research, and tax analysis is needed. Prior Big 4 or large CPA firm experience is an asset. Excellent research and writing skills are needed. Supervisory experience is a must.
