Managing Attorney
The candidate will provide legal representation and advocacy to non-citizens before Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS) and the applicable Court on a variety of legal matters. Will represent individual clients, supervise the immigration staff's caseload, manage the specific branch and manage the practice's staff. Support/provide legal representation and advocacy for all immigration matters. Oversee intake and assessment of potential clients. Works with Partners to create office budget, establish marketing plan, establish personnel plan. Participate in committees and working groups addressing the rights of immigrant survivors. Supervise practice staff, ensuring that they are serving clients in a trauma-informed manner, employing best practices and managing the caseloads effectively. Conduct trainings and presentations internally and externally. Other projects as assigned by the company. Work collaboratively across departments. Participate in on-going education and training opportunities.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate should have a J.D. Law Degree, admission to relative Bar. A minimum of five to eight(5-8) years of relevant immigration law experience related to immigration. A minimum of three(3) years supervisory experience. Experience working with diverse communities. Commitment to serving the public interest with high standards of legal practice in a manner that is client-centered. Fluency or proficiency in Spanish preferred. Excellent written, oral communication, and public speaking skills. Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets and case management database programs. Excellent organizational, time management and record keeping skills, including the ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and to interact with management and program staff and build strong client relationships. Must support the philosophy and guiding principles. Able to participate in agency-wide and community events, initiatives and committees to help strengthen the organizational goals. Ability to collaborate with people and synthesize diverse sets of institutional perspectives. Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in all situations and be able to withhold confidential agency information.

"Very Straightforward Firm With Some Drawbacks"

I would like to see this firm raise its bar in terms of raising the minimum requirements to get hired at this firm. I would then like to see management implement daily meetings to keep everyone on the same page.

Pros : It is very easy to land a position at this firm whether you are an attorney or some other staff member. The work environment is very casual and most members at this firm are very friendly.
Cons : It is very easy to get your foot in the door and that being the case, a lot of the staff members tend to be unprofessional in their daily dealings and there are a lot of cases that get sidelined for quite some time.
