Legal Assistant Duties: Responsible for producing and filing case documents in multiple states. Documents include post-judgment applications, garnishments, proposed judgments, and service documents. Work with attorneys, courts, and team members on a large number of cases as they progress through all stages of the legal process. Running SCRA checks. Completing service. E-filing documents on court websites. Handling cases in different stages of litigation or foreclosure while keeping up with strict timelines. Balancing shifting targets and priorities.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. Post-High School education such as a Paralegal Certificate or Bachelorâ€™s Degree preferred. 2-yearsâ€™ experience in a fast-paced legal office environment with previous experience with related legal or process service preferred. Must have excellent organizational, follow-up, and case management skills. Ability to accurately type 60+ WPM- Intermediate MS Office knowledge, especially intermediate Outlook and Excel (formulas, sorting, filters). Ability to work independently and appropriately manage priorities. Very strong communication skillsâ€”both written and verbal. Ability to use office machinery including copier, high speed scanner, and envelope stuffing machine. Must be a fast learner and willing to pick up and do any task, and learn.
