A law firm in Greenville, SC is seeking a Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, detail-oriented, and a strong writer with a passion for building genuine relationships with clients and colleagues. They should possess strong analytical and communication skills and have a desire to gain hands-on experience in proceedings before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts. Prior clerkship experience and excellent academic performance are highly valued. Writing samples are required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in labor and employment matters before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on employment law issues, including statutes, regulations, and case law.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
  • Provide legal advice to clients on a range of employment issues, including wrongful termination, discrimination, wage and hour claims, and workplace policies.
  • Manage case files and maintain effective communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, depositions, and trial proceedings.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to develop case strategies and provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Engage in client development and relationship-building activities to foster long-term partnerships.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration and interpersonal abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong writing and drafting skills.
  • Desire for hands-on experience in proceedings before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts.
  • Prior clerkship experience is highly valued.
  • Excellent academic performance is highly valued.
  • Writing samples are required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the South Carolina State Bar (or eligibility to obtain admission).
