Senior Associate General Counsel
The Counsel will be responsible for providing expert-level knowledge, counsel, and direction on a wide variety of corporate legal matters relating to complex contracting, subsidiary governance, intercompany arrangements, and other strategic corporate transactions for a market leading health insurance company. Providing legal guidance, drafting and negotiation support. Regarded as a top attorney for expertise in those areas the position will provide in-depth legal counsel, direction and support to the negotiation of high-stakes contracts and transactions across the enterprise. Will be directly linked to several strategic imperatives and risk mitigation initiatives and will handle the most complex legal matters or projects.

Qualification and Experience

The candidate must hold a Law degree and license to practice law in the State with 10 years of legal experience with specific focus on health insurance and direct experience leading legal support of significant corporate contracts and transactions. Experience in Complex contracting, Vendor, provider network, producer/customer and strategic sourcing contracting, Health insurance regulations, corporate governance and Corporate transactions required. Experience advising senior leaders on complex legal matters, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws required. Strong and proven negotiation skills to support business leaders and mitigate financial, strategic and operational risk required. Expertise in managing high risk, complex transactions, including drafting, negotiation and risk mitigation, providing business-focused legal guidance needed. Demonstrated ability to think strategically on legal and business issues and deliver high quality and timely legal services. Highly developed judgment skills and leadership abilities is must.
