Associate General Counsel, Product
Responsibilities: Review global products, features, platforms, and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions. Provide and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as data protection and privacy, intermediary liability, consumer protection, security, e-commerce, payments, integrity, and other global legal frameworks applicable to the product you are supporting. Coordinate with public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing, trust and safety, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, and product development and launches. Work cross-functionally with attorneys from other legal teams such as privacy, regulatory, commercial, and litigation.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and active membership in at least one US state bar. 8+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney (including at a law firm or in-house experience). Experience with contract drafting and negotiation, advising clients, legal privacy, or related area. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in-house at a technology company. Experience working independently and cross-functionally. Experience advising clients on risk mitigation across technology product platforms, in particular, experience with enterprise technologies or messaging/telecommunications technologies. Experience in product counseling role building and supporting products, and/or experience supporting sales & marketing legal teams. Privacy experience, including with international data protection frameworks.
