Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Manage litigation cases, including drafting and responding to discovery, preparing motions, and supporting court appearances.
  • Handle wage and hour litigation and employment class action/PAGA matters.
  • Provide counseling to management clients on various employment law issues.
  • Conduct legal research and write comprehensive, clear reports.
  • Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, ensuring clear and timely updates on case status.
  • Support firm leadership in developing strategies for complex legal issues.
  • Participate in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings, as needed.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of substantial litigation experience, including brief writing and discovery management.
  • Exposure to wage and hour issues and class action/PAGA cases is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience in providing employment counseling for management-side law firms.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple cases with strong time management skills.
  • Strong research, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Must hold a JD or equivalent degree and be admitted to practice law in California or working towards California admission.

Education:

  • JD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in California (or steps being taken towards admission).

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and priorities.
  • Experience with court appearances and depositions.
  • Proficiency in time management and organization.
