Duties:
- Manage litigation cases, including drafting and responding to discovery, preparing motions, and supporting court appearances.
- Handle wage and hour litigation and employment class action/PAGA matters.
- Provide counseling to management clients on various employment law issues.
- Conduct legal research and write comprehensive, clear reports.
- Manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining organization and attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, ensuring clear and timely updates on case status.
- Support firm leadership in developing strategies for complex legal issues.
- Participate in depositions, hearings, and other legal proceedings, as needed.
Requirements:
- 4-6 years of substantial litigation experience, including brief writing and discovery management.
- Exposure to wage and hour issues and class action/PAGA cases is highly preferred.
- Prior experience in providing employment counseling for management-side law firms.
- Proven ability to handle multiple cases with strong time management skills.
- Strong research, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
- Must hold a JD or equivalent degree and be admitted to practice law in California or working towards California admission.
Education:
- JD degree (or equivalent) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Active Bar membership in California (or steps being taken towards admission).
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage complex cases and priorities.
- Experience with court appearances and depositions.
- Proficiency in time management and organization.
