Business Immigration Paralegal
Duties: The candidate demonstrates mastery of firm and client processes. Demonstrates subject matter expertise with procedural and processing requirements for various types of non-immigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications. Independently analyzes case documents and prepares immigration applications for attorney review and filing with the appropriate government agency. Advanced level analysis and identification of legal and procedural issues. Drafts and reviews highly complex legal documents. Develops a preliminary case strategy and confirms accuracy with an attorney. Adheres to deadlines and prioritizes cases. Supports the Immigration Practice training Manager in training junior staff. Reviews work product of junior staff before it is sent for attorney review. Assists junior staff with determining deadlines and prioritizing cases. Extensives communication with clients. Works closely in a team environment.
Qualification and ExperienceQualifications: The candidate should have a degree from accredited college or university and/or paralegal certification. 5+ years of immigration paralegal experience. Analytical – Able to mine and collect data for cases. Problem Solving Skills – gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Interpersonal Skills – Focuses on case/task at hand; maintains confidentiality. Communication –Responds to inquiries quickly with professionalism and tact. Writes clearly and informatively. Edits work for errors. Able to read and interpret information accurately and concisely. Organization skills – Keeps work area clear of safety hazards. Files are maintained neatly and are easily retrieved. Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and handle numerous projects/tasks, sometimes heavy caseloads. Detailed oriented. Knowledge – In-depth knowledge of legal processes related to business immigration. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; VisaTrax/Zoom, and Document Management System.
