Fall Internship Intern primary duties will include assisting the Congressman's staff in clerical and administrative responsibilities, working on research projects, staffing the Representative at events, and helping with constituent casework. In Washington, interns will also gain insight into the legislative process by attending committee hearings, briefings on issues, and other similar events. In Minneapolis, interns help organize community events, connect with constituent organizations, and inform the Congressman’s work in Washington. Should have strong written and verbal communication skills, is detail-oriented, has excellent interpersonal skills, and is organized and pays attention to detail. It is also important that the applicant has a keen interest in the political process and learning the operations of a Congressional Office. A minimum of 15 hours a week is required. Interns must conduct themselves in a manner that reflects well on the House of Representatives. Internship will generally last 3-4 months. Deadline: July 15th.
