Education Programs Lead, E9 Duties : The Education Programs Lead, as an integral part of the Continuing Legal Education team, plays a lead role in planning and designing accredited Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs that strengthen Washington lawyers’ professionalism and competence for practice. Works closely with staff and volunteer stakeholders to understand the evolving needs of attorneys in a wide variety of practice settings, and to help shape CLE programing that responds to these needs, aligns with the broader continuum of WSBA’s educational programming, and reflects WSBA’s mission focus areas and strategic goals. The primary focus of this Lead’s portfolio is New Lawyer Education, Public Service, Regulatory, Legal Lunchbox/Diversity Programming, with additional support provided in other areas of educational programming within the Continuing Legal Education team. Clarifying and validating learning outcomes and objectives in consultation with managers and relevant stakeholders; identifying and engaging subject matter experts to shape curriculum and programs; recruiting, preparing and managing volunteer speakers (ensuring timely follow through at all stages of the process); providing direction and support to staff involved in webcasting, video recording and/or video post-production; managing the event budget (as approved by the Education Programs Manager); working with appropriate staff and stakeholders to assess learning needs and priorities; facilitating ongoing dialogue with key identified stakeholders; determining, promoting and facilitating opportunities for collaboration; coordinating educational program planning and calendaring with the associated teams, and ensuring the timely and accurate submission of information in organization-wide program and event calendars. Ensures educational programs are delivered on time, on target, and on budget, by: ensuring deadlines are met; coordinating and communicating early, regularly and accurately with the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) team; advance planning and coordination with the webcast team; understanding and communicating registration goals; collaborating with the Communications Department to facilitate strategies that complement formal marketing and advertising; collaborating with the webcast production team by providing support and guidance on education content of online programs; working with appropriate staff and stakeholders to assess learning needs and priorities and to plan a continuum of educational programs and to evaluate the success and impact of the programs offered. Other duties invariably arise, and the Education Programs Lead will be expected to demonstrate agility in incorporating these responsibilities in the course of their work.
Qualification and Experience
Qualification : Must have Undergraduate degree or a combination of education, training or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the duties associated with this position. A JD (or familiarity with legal education) or a graduate degree in education is preferred. Requirements: Education design for online and in person delivery, project or event management in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment; financial/ budget accountability; volunteer management. Experience planning and/or delivering adult education in multiple formats is preferred.
