Legal Assistant/Paralegal Responsibilities: Assists attorneys in construction and other practice areas. Assists with discovery by developing and assisting with ESI protocols, implementation of same in connection with discovery responses, familiar with E-discovery and use of litigation management software such as Eclipse, Summation, etc. Works to ensure discovery matters (requests and responses) are complete and timely. Drafts and/or reviews pleadings, correspondence, motions, briefs or other documents needed in the litigation process, as well as reviews others work product for privilege, completeness and accuracy based on the facts, law, rules and legal proceedings and summarizes. May communicate with witnesses to gather information needed for cases, conducts fact research to verify witness-provided information or locate information for witnesses based on public records searches. Uses a proactive approach to case deadlines to anticipate attorney needs, as well as enabling timely compliance with deadlines. Assists with deposition & trial preparation. Assists with aspects of appeal work. Ensures that all case documents are kept in an orderly electronic manner and made readily available for retrieval. Direct communication with clients, witnesses and court officials.

Requirements: 4 years of college or 2 years of college + completion of an accredited legal assistant program. Certified Legal Assistant/Paralegal preferred. 3+ years of experience as a paralegal (or equivalent experience) in construction with an emphasis in construction litigation and other related areas of law is preferred. Familiar with E-discovery and use of litigation management software such as Eclipse, Summation, etc.
