SUMMARY OF POSITION: Martínez Aguilasocho & Lynch, A Professional Law Corporation (“MA&L”) advocates for the rights of farmworkers, farmworker families and the Latino community in California, across the U.S., and internationally. We are seeking a candidate for the position of Staff Attorney.

MA&L Staff Attorneys primarily litigate in the areas of labor and employment law, with a focus on representing Spanish-speaking farm workers, or farm workers that speak indigenous languages from Mexico in wage and hour employment cases, sexual harassment cases, employment discrimination cases, and labor organizing matters. MA&L Staff Attorneys also contribute to various advocacy efforts, including but not limited to: civil employment law litigation in state and federal courts; Agricultural Labor Relations Board and National Labor Relations Board; Workplace Health and Safety; Collective Bargaining and Unionization; Sexual Harassment and Employment Discrimination; Retaliation and Illegal Termination; and Legislation.

This position will be based in Bakersfield, CA and is a full-time exempt position.

QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed attorney in good standing with a demonstrable commitment to social justice work; and strong communication skills, both oral and written in English and Spanish.

WORK HOURS: Full-time, salaried exempt.

COMPENSATION: Minimum $65,000 starting salary; compensation commensurate with experience; benefits include medical, dental, vision, pension,15 paid holidays per year.

STARTING DATE: Variable.
