Vice President, Operations Counsel The candidate will advise on healthcare operations, general corporate transactions, regulatory and compliance issues, employment, medical staff issues, contracting, and patient concerns. Will provide legal review and/or advice to facility administration; participates in the development of system policies and procedures; reviews contracts; and negotiates and facilitates transactions. Supervise and direct outside legal counsel in performance of legal services. Interface with all corporate departments to provide advice on legal issues. Assist with compliance investigations as needed; coordinate with Compliance Department. Participate in activities that increase legal knowledge, professional expertise, and the delivery of quality legal services. Conducts educational sessions, prepares compliance plans, prepares and facilitates implementation plans. Request and utilize interdepartmental services as they pertain to the provision of legal services; establishes and maintains working relationships with all department personnel relative to legal service function. Assist in development of methods for achieving goals such as competitive bids, form agreements, reviews legal resources, and system policies within legal limits. Use skill, knowledge and experience to assist company in amicably resolving disputes with third parties. Prepare and interpret corporate documents, medical staff documents. Prepare and interprets leases, real estate documents. JD degree from an accredited law school is needed. Current license to practice law is essential. Should have 7+ years of experience in healthcare law, including, EMTALA, HIPAA, Stark, ACA, fraud and abuse, healthcare regulatory compliance, and hospital operations. Previous law firm experience a plus.
