A law firm seeks a mid-level to senior Associate with at least 2 years of experience in litigation to join its Philadelphia office. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong foundation in complex litigation, specifically insurance defense. Candidates will be involved in a range of casework, from drafting pleadings and motions to court appearances and depositions. Duties

  • Draft and file pleadings, including complex motions.
  • Manage all stages of litigation, including discovery and document review.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Attend court conferences and argue motions.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop and execute defense strategies.
  • Ensure meticulous case management and attention to detail in all communications and filings.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in litigation, with a preference for those experienced in insurance defense.
  • Licensure: Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania; additional licensure in New Jersey and/or New York is advantageous.
  • Skills: Superior research, writing, and oral communication capabilities.
  • Character Traits: Self-motivated, organized, and detail-focused.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active state bar admission in Pennsylvania, with New Jersey and/or New York a plus.

Skills

  • Strong litigation background, particularly in insurance defense.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft and file pleadings and complex motions.
  • Experienced in all phases of litigation, including deposition and trial/arbitration preparation.
  • Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for client and courtroom interactions.
