Tax Manager - State and Local Tax (SALT) Responsibilities: Working in a highly-interactive and dynamic team environment both within Citrin Cooperman’s National SALT practice and New York City office. Working with clients and internal Citrin Cooperman personnel performing tax research and analysis on a wide array of SALT matters and subjects including: Income and indirect tax nexus. Apportionment and revenue sourcing for income, business activity and indirect taxes. Sales taxability matrices and analysis for indirect taxes. Credits and incentives for job creation and qualifying investments. SALT planning and implementation. M&A SALT due diligence for pending transactions, and. SALT controversies involving audits and administrative appeals.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: BS in Accounting, LLM or Masters in Taxation. CPA and/or JD preferred. Broad SALT experience, including income/franchise tax, personal income tax, and sales/use tax. Must have 7 plus years of tax experience working in a public accounting or law firm of which at least 4 of the years was exclusively in SALT. Ability to grow strong team relationships. Effectively communicate verbally and in writing both internally and externally. Strong analytical and research skills in a firm or corporate environment. Highly organized. A strong desire to learn new concepts and apply these concepts real-time. Comprehensive understanding of multi-state tax concepts.
