A law firm seeks a skilled Immigration Attorney to join its team in Oakland, CA. This position offers an opportunity to provide expert legal services in immigration law, working closely with clients in a collaborative and supportive environment. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish and have prior experience in immigration law, though applications are welcome from individuals with a strong interest in immigration law or who are willing to learn.

Duties:

  • Legal Document Drafting: Draft declarations, motions, briefs, and replies to requests for evidence.
  • Work Product Review: Review the work product of non-attorneys for accuracy, including factual, legal, and grammatical content.
  • Client Representation: Make appearances before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) and USCIS, both via video and in person.
  • Legal Advice: Provide legal guidance to clients on immigration matters.
  • Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct legal research to support case strategies and client decisions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues on complex legal issues, sharing knowledge and insights.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar of any . state.
  • 2+ years of experience in immigration law is preferred, but not required.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is required for communication with clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while being an effective team player.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar license from any . state.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
  • Ability to provide clear and concise legal advice.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (required).
