Workers' Compensation Defense Associate Attorney Responsibilities: Taking depositions of Plaintiffs, witnesses, experts and other parties. Conducting discovery. Performing legal research. Remaining current with developments in the law. Drafting pleadings, findings of fact, motions, briefs, opinions, and other legal documents. Arguing motions at trial court level. Attending hearings and conferences with judges.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: A law degree from an ABA accredited law school. Licensed in Missouri or have sat for the Missouri Bar. 0-6 years experience with workers' compensation or personal injury experience preferred. Strong written and oral advocacy skills. Exceptional research abilities. Analytical and logical reasoning aptitudes. Ability to synthesize complex legal and factual materials. Superior interpersonal skills. Client development skills. Ability to handle large caseloads and juggle multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent negotiation skills. Be able to work efficiently with corporate professionals. Be committed to excellent performance and be detail oriented. Excellent organizational skills. Be willing to work with senior attorneys and paralegals in all aspects of litigation.

"Amazing Management"

The biggest advice I have for management is we need to grow not quickly but some and at a steady pace over time, it's the only way we will get respectable clients and prove to others that we are a capable firm.

Pros : Management has taken the time to make sure that I am happy and comfortable with the work I'm doing.They worked with me to grow and have answered all questions happily and with haste.The pay is fantastic and the work environment is enjoyable.Management pays for our lunch twice a week and takes us out for drinks at random times during the month.
Cons : It's a small firm so we don't get many big cases.Work after a while is below what most of us are capable of doing.I want to grow further but I feel like I have peaked at this firm at least at this moment.
