Certified Graduate Intern Duties : Will perform task Statements include preparing legal documents, memorandums, briefs and motions to support the State's position on given issues for Public Defender's approval and filing. Also, researching legal issues to effectively present the State's position, help Public Defenders interview victims, witnesses, and police officers to prepare cases for trial and/or plea agreements. Also appear in Court supervised by Public Defenders to conduct preliminary matters in Court, such as bond reductions, initial hearings, pre-trials and plea agreements. In addition, appears in Court, supervised by Public Defenders, to represent the State at jury trials, court trials, or in more complicated preliminary matters. The candidate must be a second or third year law student and have completed the required prerequisites of Evidence and Professional Responsibility. Must have ability to utilize computer technology.
