Self-Help Center Attorney The candidate will under supervision of the Self-Help Center Director and the State Law Librarian, work as a part of a team to provide self-represented parties information and instruction about legal and court procedures, and other resources to navigate the legal system. Will provide self-represented parties information about the law and court processes, forms, and referrals to sources of legal representation and community assistance. Services are provided primarily by telephone, e mail and text messaging. Performs related duties as assigned, possibly including outreach services and training, and participating in court proceedings involving self represented parties. Must have working knowledge of Utah law and legal terminology. Strong computer experience including word processing and web resources is required. Experience serving the legal needs of low-income clients preferred. Licensed and experienced Utah attorney preferred, but will consider a graduate from an accredited law school. Bilingual speaking, reading and writing ability in Spanish strongly preferred. Civil law experience preferred, particularly experience in domestic, consumer and housing law. Deadline : 06/27/19.
