Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a highly skilled Life Sciences Intellectual Property Attorney to manage and oversee high-level, strategic legal matters related to intellectual property in the life sciences sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in life sciences and intellectual property law, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills. This role requires both independent and collaborative work to produce high-quality legal work, contribute to business generation, and uphold the highest ethical standards of the legal profession.

Duties:

  • Simultaneously manage and advance multiple high-level legal matters from inception to conclusion.
  • Produce quality legal work, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating intellectual property agreements.
  • Bill required hours to ensure excellent client service and maintain accurate time records.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through effective communication and service delivery.
  • Assist in generating new business through individual and group efforts.
  • Adhere to the highest ethical standards of the legal profession in all aspects of work.
  • Demonstrate a strong interest in advancing a career in litigation and intellectual property law.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • . or Master’s Degree in a Life Sciences discipline is preferred.
  • Registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Licensed to practice law in good standing in Missouri (MO).
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm or clerking.
  • Preferably 6+ years of experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm.

Skills:

  • Expertise in intellectual property law with a focus on life sciences, including immunology, genetics, molecular biology, and/or pharmaceuticals.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex legal issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of producing high-quality legal work and meeting billing requirements.
  • Proficiency in generating business and contributing to the firm's growth.
