Pro Bono Attorney Manager Duties: Responsible for the Center’s Pro Bono Program designed to aid clients most in need of courtroom and skilled lawyer advocacy. Primary responsibility for the cases and volunteers participating in the Pro Bono Program; for directing and overseeing all operations from identifying clients in need of representation, analyzing legal issues, soliciting volunteer lawyers to represent individuals; training, education and recruitment of attorneys, and problem solving to address a host of legal practice, including professional responsibility issues, which arise in the course of managing these cases. Maintains a small caseload and fulfills other responsibilities of a Center staff attorney.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: Admission to the CA Bar in good standing and 5 years of family law or civil practice and/or other relevant work experience. In addition to a prior successful work history, the competitive candidate must demonstrate the ability to: 1) manage and interact with a diverse range of professional and lay individuals; 2) organize and maintain office and data systems; 3) collaborate and work cooperatively with others; 4) motivate, educate and nurture peers; 5) concisely and quickly analyze legal issues and develop solutions, and 6) write well.
