Junior Paralegal Duties: Under the supervision and direction of a Senior Paralegal, helps to manage and organize the materials and information relating to particular matters and transactions to assist and provide a range of legal support and administration to lawyers and other legal professionals engaged our firm’s law practice. Assist other legal teams on an as needed basis and acquire an understanding of the mechanics of civil litigation, including pleadings and discovery tools. Attending training sessions including database training sessions, and through general on-the-job experience. Legal and factual research using library, on-line, and outside resources. Participation in reviewing and preparing document productions. Maintenance of case files. Preparation of material for depositions. Summarizing and digesting transcripts. Exhibit preparation for pleadings, trials, hearings, etc. Cite checking and shepardizing legal memoranda, briefs, articles, opinions, etc. Preparing pleadings for filing or service. Creating trial books, case binders, etc. Attending depositions, hearings, trials. Arranging for court reporters, interpreters, conference rooms, etc. Creating charts, graphs, tables, etc. for data analysis. Utilizing firm resources to accomplish above tasks. Processing invoices related to vendor services contracted on behalf of a client or an attorney. Preparing daily time entries for services performed. Utilizing litigation support software programs and other spreadsheet and database programs as needed to perform client projects.

Qualification and Experience

Qualifications: Prefer Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university. 2+ years of general law firm experience. Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw; Document Management System; e-discovery platforms. Able to operate computer, calculator, copier, fax, scanner. Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and with a variety of personalities. Willingness and ability to work overtime and long hours. Excellent professional references. Good judgment. High ethical standards.

I would appreciate more stable hours; it's interfering with my home life and is kind of hurting my social life with my family and friends.Would appreciate some more clear paths for promotions or raises at the moment; I don't even know if that's a thing at all.

Pros : I've worked for Anderson, McPharlin&Conners for six months and the first thing that I noticed was that the work environment is very peaceful; it's not chaotic at all and everything is very well organized.Management is available and willing to help us with our questions and concerns.
Cons : The pay is a little below average and I'm not sure if raises are available the first year of work.I have not been given any opportunity or been told about promotion opportunities.The hours are long and tiring, I'm regularly requested to work overtime.
