Key Responsibilities

  • Litigation Management: Oversee all aspects of case work-up and trial preparation, including client interaction, strategy development, and execution.
  • Legal Research and Writing: Conduct thorough legal research and draft a wide range of legal documents such as briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.
  • Privacy Law Expertise: Provide legal advice on privacy litigation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and international privacy laws.
  • Incident Response: Manage and guide clients through data privacy incidents, including breach responses and communication with regulators.
  • Client Interaction: Collaborate directly with clients, providing practical and strategic legal advice on complex matters related to data privacy and tech transactions.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with other attorneys and legal professionals to provide comprehensive legal solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • Significant litigation experience, particularly in privacy-related cases.
    • Proven ability to manage all elements of case work-up and trial preparation.
    • Strong legal research and writing experience, particularly in drafting briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, and other key documents.
    • Experience working in a law firm or similar professional environment.
    • Client-facing experience and ability to manage sophisticated legal matters independently.
  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with federal, state, and international privacy laws is a plus.
    • Understanding of tech transactions and data privacy incident response practices.

Education and Certifications

  • JD Degree: Must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar Membership: Must be a member in good standing of the Bar in Utah, or eligible for admission.

  • Legal Research: Exceptional ability to conduct detailed legal research and apply findings in casework.
  • Writing: Strong drafting and writing skills, with attention to detail and precision in legal documentation.
