Profile

General Counsel Duties : Manages the legal affairs of the California Housing Finance Agency by providing advice on day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives. Is the chief legal officer of firm's and supervises its legal staff. Responsible for all legal matters relating to the operation of firm's; plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, supervises and reviews the work of the Assistant Chief Counsels.

Qualification and Experience

Desirable Qualifications : Must have active membership in The State Bar of California. In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience related to the duties of the position. Possess direct experience in one or all of the following: real estate law, banking and finance (single family and/or multifamily lending), personnel and/or labor law. Possess direct experience managing the work of subordinate attorneys as well as support staff. Possess experience providing legal support to executive level staff and/or a governing board, as well as working knowledge of the Bagley-Keene Act and Robert’s Rules of Order. Possess experience streamlining departmental processes or activities through the use of technology or other means.
