A fast-growing law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney specializing in Family Law. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of family law or comparable civil litigation experience. The position involves managing a caseload, overseeing a team of legal professionals, and handling family law litigation. Duties:

  • Prepare form and written pleadings for family law cases.
  • Draft correspondence to clients, experts, and opposing counsel.
  • Meet with clients and experts to discuss case strategies.
  • Use Xspouse software to prepare child and spousal support calculations.
  • Propound discovery and respond to discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on family law matters.
  • Prepare case memorandums and summaries.
  • Develop testimony questions for hearings, depositions, and trials.
  • Draft opening and closing arguments for litigation.
  • Accurately track time in case management software.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing family law or comparable civil litigation.
  • In-depth knowledge of California Family Code, Code of Civil Procedure, and Evidence Code.
  • Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Prior leadership or management experience in a legal setting.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and Xspouse/Xarrears software.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Exceptional legal writing and research skills.
  • Strong communication skills for client and expert interactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency in case management software and legal tools.
