Personal Injury Paralegal The candidate will help in drafting of pleadings, discovery demands/responses, motions, subpoenas, settlement documents, etc. Process authorizations and compile medical records. Analyzing medical records, draft summaries and chronologies. Communicate with courts, clients, experts, opposing counsel, and counsel for co-defendants as needed. Manage and update case activity to assist attorneys with case monitoring and client reporting. Assist with prepping files for mediation, arbitration and trial. Prepare cases from inception to trial. Accurately record and maintain billable hours.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a Paralegal certificate; Associate Degree or higher is preferred. Experience in civil litigation and management of high-volume of cases. Experience reviewing medical and technical records preferred. 2 years of MS Word, Excel and Outlook, and the ability to learn new programs and systems. Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills. Legal research (Lexis, Westlaw) proficiency preferred. Works well in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of New York State Unified Court System and Federal E-Filing Procedures. Occasional overtime.
