Labor Relations Legal Specialist II The candidate will represent the organization as an advocate in its commitment to consistent and fair labor and employment practices. Will develop, implement and maintain Collective Bargaining Agreements, MOAs and Settlements. Investigate and support investigations conducted by other departments regarding CBA violations, discipline and other allegations. Identify proactive opportunities for increasing awareness, knowledge, and education of management regarding the correct application of collectively bargained language. Support negotiation processes. Coordinate with Legal Department to ensure CBA compliance is met. Stay current on Arbitration and Settlement trends within the applicable internationals and beyond. Perform ongoing legal research on a variety of labor and employment law issues. Prepare Arbitration Cases for presentation and interact with outside counsel. Hear and respond to grievances. Provide support as needed throughout HR organization on issues related to employment, labor and compliance law. Provide LR contract interpretation and administration support for management and workforce on the deck-plates. Be visible on the deckplates in all areas of the yard to provide support, communication and greater LR identity. Required/Preferred Education/Training. Must have Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited Law School, LLM or other advanced legal education with training in conflict resolution, case management, and communications required. Valid Bar license is preferred. Should have 2-5 year work experience in Labor Relations, Labor Law or educational equivalent required, Experience with IAMAW, UAW is strongly preferred Thorough knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations pertaining to Labor Law Required. Experience with grievance case management is strongly preferred. Strong oral and written communication skill is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and computer-based software is essential. Experience in quantitative and statistical analysis and data management is essential.
