Oakland office of our client seeks immigration attorney with 2-5 years of experience preferably in direct representation before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals and the federal courts. The candidate focuses on asylum, removal defense, criminal/immigration issues, waivers, family-based applications, working with survivors of crime and domestic violence as well as appellate advocacy. Represents adult and minor clients in applications for asylum and Credible Fear processing. Represents clients in applications for relief from removal before the Immigration Courts, including asylum, withholding of removal, CAT relief, bond, cancellation of removal, waivers, and family-based applications. Represents clients in family-based applications, consular processing, U and T visas and VAWA applications. Works collaboratively with partners and other associate attorneys. Represents clients before the Immigration Courts, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Patrol, the Board of Immigration Appeals, and the federal courts. Legal research and writing in support of both affirmative and defensive applications as well as in support of federal litigation and advocacy before various immigration agencies. Spanish fluency and experience working with monolingual Spanish-speaking clients is essential. Must have active Bar admission in any state, California Bar admission is preferred.
