A law firm in Oakland, CA, is seeking an experienced Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in handling a variety of employment-related legal matters. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in investigations, litigation, and proceedings before federal and state agencies.

Job Details:

  • Conduct investigations and handle matters before federal and state agencies such as the . Department of Labor, the California Department of Industrial Relations, the California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, EEOC, and other human rights agencies.
  • Represent clients in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) concerning union organizing, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, union elections, and arbitrations.
  • Manage employment litigation cases in federal and state courts, including wage and hour disputes, discrimination claims, wrongful termination, and other employment-related matters.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs, and participate in all aspects of discovery, including taking and defending depositions.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on employment law compliance issues and risk management strategies.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in California.
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, with a focus on defending federal and state wage and hour cases, including collective and class actions.
  • Proven track record of handling investigations and proceedings before administrative agencies and the NLRB.
  • Strong understanding of federal and California employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop effective legal strategies.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively.
