ProfileAttorney Adviser (General) Duties: The candidate serves as Attorney Advisor to all segments of the Agency offices within the geographic area. Renders oral and written advice to protect all legal rights of the Government. Reviews administrative or contractual actions of the Contracting Officers including termination settlements, equitable adjustments, and property matters with unilateral determinations there on. Assists with investigation and processing appeals, request for contract adjustment, claims to the General Accounting Office and litigation in Federal and state courts. Advises on reports of various investigative agencies or procurement activities, alleged conflict of interest, suspected fraud, security issues. Provide legal counsel on questions of law and policy as required by local offices, and the effect of such operations on other Agency activities. Advises on personnel matters and supporting representation of the agency before administrative tribunals such as the EEOC, MSPB, and FLRA.
Qualification and Experience
Qualifications: The candidate should have completed a full course of study in a school of law accredited by the ABA and have the first professional law degree (LL.B. or J.D.) from that institution. Should currently be an active member, in good standing, in the Bar of the highest court of a State, U.S. commonwealth, U.S. territory, or the District of Columbia. Must have professional legal experience in excess of 3 years that is commensurate with the duties and responsibilities of the position.
