Regulatory Advisory Director The candidate will interpret and advise on global derivatives legislation and regulations that impact company and its clients, as well as perform project-based work designed to provide clients with deliverables that assess current regulatory compliance programs and/or develop appropriate regulatory strategies and policies. Advise clients on the impact of derivatives regulation by analyzing client and trade-specific information, and assisting in ensuring requirements are met. Drive delivery on project engagements through collaboration with team members to combine regulatory subject matter expertise and integration across service areas for multi-service clients. Develop client deliverables and providing quality assurance for content of deliverables produced by other members of the project team. Keep up to date on the latest global regulatory developments that impact company and clients. Build knowledge in clients' business/industry to identify potential regulatory issues and evaluate clients' business practices. Actively work with business development team members to help meet revenue goals and participate in long-term planning for sector/geography. Assist in the creation of business development materials.
Qualification and Experience
The candidate should have a J.D. or equivalent non-US law degree with 3+ years of legal experience (ideally in the financial industry or highly related field). Experience with the Dodd-Frank Act, EMIR, AIFMD, and the Commodities Exchange Act is needed. Experience at an Am Law 100 law firm, buy-side firm, bank, or regulatory agency is preferred. Experience with banks, bank holding companies, or other regulated financial business structures and transactions is desired. Ability to design effective power point presentations is an asset. Should have ability to travel up to 80% based on client requests/commitments.
