Practice Assistant, Employment Law The candidate will index and maintain pleading files, document collections, deposition transcripts and exhibit library. Will under direct supervision, assist with the collection and preparation of documents for production. Organize documents in chronological order in preparation for depositions, trials, hearings, mediations and arbitrations. Index privileged and confidential documents for analysis. Effectively utilize automated litigation support databases and applications, including building databases and conducting searches. Distill and organize evidence through the preparation of summaries, indices, chronologies, witness binders, charts and graphs. Review files and obtain photocopies from court, the recorder's office, etc. Use electronic research tools and the library to locate cases, statutes and legal authorities and compile these materials into binders. Assist in the organization of case materials and exhibits for motion preparation, hearings, trials, arbitrations and mediations. Draft memoranda and correspondence; maintain and oversee records of closed files. Bachelor’s Degree required with a strong academic background is needed. Prior legal experience or the equivalent Practice Assistant experience is useful. Advanced computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office is needed. Strong time-management skills are required.
